My Bedroom Makeover

After living in my home for 1 year and 7 months, it was finally time to makeover my space!

My bedroom has always been a favorite spot, having both ample space and warmth with tons of natural light. It was one of the last rooms on my list for a makeover, I usually always wait till last to do my bedroom. I like to see the vibe of the rest of the house and then go from there!

Before:

I really wanted to add some personality and charm. My first idea was to paint the ceiling a bold color and add some stripes for flair. Opting for Peristyle Brass by Sherwin Williams and Railings by Farrow & Ball, I wanted to create a focal point that would uplift the room’s vibe. 

After:

Though taping the ceiling + stripes took the longest, the end result was so worth it. This was my first time ever doing something like this and I loved how it turned out, especially how the colors contrasted each other. 

I wanted to fill the room with character,  so I added repurposed furniture and mixed vintage finds with modern touches. A hutch I snagged from Facebook Marketplace got a makeover with some paint and distressing to create that antique vibe. It turned out to be perfect to mount my TV and doubled as storage, since I didn’t plan on getting a dresser. I paired my low side tables with vintage wooden pendant lights, which gave the room a cozy yet modern vibe.

Embracing a simpler approach to decor, I carefully selected pieces that added to the room’s ambiance without overwhelming it. Neutral tones ruled the rug and curtains, letting the ceiling and stripes steal the show. My bedroom became the perfect blend of old and new that felt inviting and comfortable.
